We are excited to share our next big initiative: the Uveyiks Cataract Surgery Project in Africa! 

By providing access to affordable eye care, we aim to restore sight and transform lives, helping individuals regain their independence and improve their quality of life. 

Why This Project?

Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide, yet they are entirely preventable. In many communities across Africa, access to basic eye care is limited, leaving thousands of people living with blindness that could easily be treated. Blindness not only affects the health of those suffering but also limits their ability to work, care for their families, and contribute to their communities. By restoring vision, we help individuals regain their independence and improve their quality of life.


Our Goal 

Our goal is to raise funds to provide life-changing cataract surgeries for individuals who cannot afford them. At just $100 per surgery, we have the power to restore sight and transform lives. Each surgery covers not only the procedure but also post-operative care and follow-ups, ensuring a complete recovery.

We are kicking off our campaign with the goal of funding at least 40 surgeries, bringing the gift of sight to those who need it most. Every $100 donated means one person can see again, regain their dignity, and have the opportunity to live a fuller life. The ripple effect of restored vision is profound, touching the lives of caregivers and giving children the opportunity to grow up with more support. Your support will allow 40 people to regain their independence and re-engage with their families, work, and communities.

We’re thrilled to announce that we have successfully reached our fundraising goal for the Uveyiks Water Well Project! Thanks to the amazing support from our community, we raised $3,950 to build a water well in Africa. This achievement means clean and safe drinking water for hundreds of families who need it most. Our journey to raise funds for the water well was filled with creative events and the incredible support of our community. One of our first major fundraising events was a community bake sale. We gathered our members, friends, and families, and everyone came together to bake delicious treats. Cookies, cakes, muffins—you name it, we had it! The bake sale not only helped us raise funds but also brought the community closer together. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Uveyiks Clean Water Initiative! Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet 2.2 billion people around the world still lack it. Every day, women across the globe spend a staggering 200 million hours finding and collecting water. The lack of accessible, clean water creates significant challenges, affecting health, education, and sanitation, particularly in Africa. The burden of water collection often falls on women and children, who must walk long distances carrying heavy jugs of water. This not only takes a toll on their physical health but also limits their opportunities for education and work. Young girls, who could be in school, are instead spending their days collecting water, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. For every year a girl stays in school, her income as an adult is expected to increase by 20%.
