Community Fundraising for Clean Water:
Goal Achieved through Bake Sales and More!

We’re thrilled to announce that we have successfully reached our fundraising goal for the Uveyiks Water Well Project! Thanks to the amazing support from our community, we raised $3,950 to build a water well in Africa. This achievement means clean and safe drinking water for hundreds of families who need it most.

Our journey to raise funds for the water well was filled with creative events and the incredible support of our community. One of our first major fundraising events was a community bake sale. We gathered our members, friends, and families, and everyone came together to bake delicious treats. Cookies, cakes, muffins—you name it, we had it! The bake sale not only helped us raise funds but also brought the community closer together. By the end of the day, we had raised a significant amount towards our goal, and the encouragement we received fueled our determination to keep going.    

       

          

       

Another key event in our journey was our Ramadan fundraiser. During this special month, we organized two different events—one of which was a bake sale after the nightly Tarawih prayers, paired with an ice cream social. The spirit of giving during Ramadan was incredible, and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of those who contributed. By the end of our Ramadan fundraiser, we had made incredible progress toward our goal, with more than $1,500 raised.

        

     


Our final push came with our Group FUNdraiser event. We wanted to make sure that our campaign not only raised money but also brought people together in the spirit of fun and giving. The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose was truly inspiring. By the end of the event, we had exceeded our goal, raising a total of $3,953.06!

    

We are so grateful for the support we received throughout our fundraising journey. The funds raised will provide clean water, improve health, and allow children to attend school instead of fetching water.

Thank you to everyone who contributed by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word. Together, we made this possible, and we are excited to keep making a positive difference.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Uveyiks Clean Water Initiative! Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet 2.2 billion people around the world still lack it. Every day, women across the globe spend a staggering 200 million hours finding and collecting water. The lack of accessible, clean water creates significant challenges, affecting health, education, and sanitation, particularly in Africa. The burden of water collection often falls on women and children, who must walk long distances carrying heavy jugs of water. This not only takes a toll on their physical health but also limits their opportunities for education and work. Young girls, who could be in school, are instead spending their days collecting water, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. For every year a girl stays in school, her income as an adult is expected to increase by 20%.
